On October 4, the opening ceremony of the 2023 American International Poster Biennial was held at the College of Design of Iowa State University. The work "Conversation" by Hua Shuai, a graduate student majoring in art and design from the School of Communication and Communication (Class 2022), was selected for this Biennale from 7,380 entries from 75 countries. It is reported that more than 200 works were exhibited during the same period.
The selected works "Conversation" is one of the excellent assignments in the course "Visual Communication Design for New Media" by Mr. He Wei from the School of Communication and Communication. By deconstructing and recombining the works of Qi Baishi and Picasso in different artistic styles and forms of expression, the author imparts new connotations to the works, and produces the image of the eastern and Western cultures sharing a boat conversation in the long river of human civilization that transcends time and space.
It is understood that this American International poster Biennale adheres to the spirit of openness, inclusiveness and unity, and all selected works will be exhibited in Los Angeles, California, the United States. In 2024, it will also be exhibited in Poland, China and other countries.
The selected works are the effective embodiment of the School of Communication based on an international perspective and improving the cultivation of master of Art and design professionals. In the future, the School of Media and Communication will continue to encourage students to actively participate in exhibitions and cultivate more excellent works.
